IDD AZIZ
Idd Aziz is a Kenyan-born DJ, singer, and multi-instrumentalist whose sound fuses traditional Swahili and Mijikenda rhythms with Afro House. He began performing at just 13, and by 15 was already touring internationally. His years in Norway, including collaborations with Youssou N’Dour, broadened his vision for blending African heritage with global sounds.
Returning to Kenya in 2014, Idd Aziz made his mark through high-profile festivals such as the Lamu Art Festival and Smithsonian Folklife Festival. His 2017 Afro House release Africala, with Max Doblhoff, became a turning point, earning recognition in the electronic scene. Collaborations with Black Coffee, Diplo, and other major names cemented his place as a rising global artist.
Idd Aziz has since become one of Kenya’s most streamed artists abroad, with tracks like Time (Mimi), Mentuliza, and Penda resonating worldwide. His music now reaches clubs, festivals, and airwaves from Berlin to Bali. A standout 2025 performance at Coachella showcased his signature blend of African soul and Afro House to a global audience.
